1 L = 1000 mL
= 500 mL + 500 mL Keep in Mind
= 250 mL + 250 mL + 250 mL + 250 mL 1
250 mL = L
= 200 mL + 200 mL + 200 mL + 200 mL + 200 mL 4

ConVerSion
The following relationship between litres and millilitres helps us convert units.
1 L = 1000 mL
Litres into Millilitres
To convert litres into millilitres, multiply the number of litres by 1000.
× 1000 × 1000
examples: a. 5 L = (5 × 1000) mL = 5000 mL
b. 8 L = (8 × 1000) mL = 8000 mL kL L mL
Litres and Millilitres into Millilitres ÷ 1000 ÷ 1000
To convert litres and millilitres into millilitres, multiply the number of litres by 1000
and add it to the number of millilitres.
examples: a. 4 L 328 mL = (4 × 1000) mL + 328 mL [Since 1 L = 1000 mL]
= 4000 mL + 328 mL = 4328 mL
b. 3 L 115 mL = (3 × 1000) mL + 115 mL [Since 1 L = 1000 mL]
= 3000 mL + 115 mL = 3115 mL
